Federal Tax Liens

Begich and his business were issued two federal tax liens totaling more than $16,000 for non-payment of taxes.

In 1995, Begich and the business in which he was general partner, North Star Vending, had a federal tax lien placed against them. The lien related to tax 941, which, according to the IRS, is an employer payroll tax. In 1995, it was an unpaid balance of $8,820.81.

Two years later, it happened again. In 1997, Begich and his business faced an unpaid balance of $8,024.88.
