Loan Defaults
On five separate occasions, Begich was served notice of default for non-payment of property loans.
The Facts:
Begich's First Property:
On March 28, 1984, Mark Begich was listed as one of three parties in the purchase of a property. 1
On December 7, 1984, a notice of default on this property was filed, naming Mark Begich as one of the trustors. 2
On January 21, 1985, a notice of termination was filed, stating that the breach of obligation from the default had been satisfied. 3
On August 14, 1990, Mark Begich was among three trustors named in a notice of default and sale on the same property, stating that the trustors failed to satisfy a debt. 4
The amount of the default? $43,457.12 5
On November 16, 1990, the defaulted property was sold at auction for the sum of $57,353.59. 6
Begich's Second Property:
On February 17, 1989, Mark Begich was named as a grantee of a property. 7
On Jan. 14, 1991, Mark Begich was named as the owner of record in a notice of default under deed of trust, stating that the trustor had failed to satisfy the debt secured in the property. 8
The amount this time? $117,125.79 9
On December 18, 1991, the property was sold at auction for the sum of $155,266.67. 10
Begich's Third Property:
On June 21, 1983, Mark Begich was among three trustors in the purchase of a property. 11
On January 4, 1985, a notice of default of this property was filed, naming Mark Begich as one of three parties. 12
However, on February 21, 1985, a rescission of the first notice of default and sale was filed, stating that the breach of obligation from the default had been satisfied. 13
But, on Feb. 11, 1988, Mark Begich was named among two trustors that were named in a notice of default on the same property, stating that the trustors failed to satisfy a debt. 14
The amount? $210,629.93, plus interest. 15
On May 12, 1988, the property was sold at auction for the sum of $99,920.00. 16
